Industrial Metals & Alloys We Buy
Arrow Metals is the scrap metal recycling partner for manufacturers, fabricators, and demolition and construction contractors. Ferrous, aluminum, and stainless steel are our focus, and we also buy copper, brass, bronze, and a wide range of specialty and industrial alloys.

What we buy
Metal recycling starts with knowing what you have. Select a category.

Ferrous
We buy steel, cast iron, and cast steel from production, fabrication, demolition, and plant cleanouts, plus tool steel, high-speed steel, and alloy steels.

Nonferrous
We buy aluminum, copper, brass, bronze, stainless steel, and a wide range of specialty and industrial alloys, as solids or turnings.
Specialty alloys: Nickel and cobalt alloys · Carbide, tungsten and moly · Titanium · Tool steel and HSS
Frequently asked questions
Do you buy alloys, or only pure metals?
Both. We buy these metals and their alloys.
What's your typical minimum?
It depends on the metal and grade, from 10,000 lb per load for ferrous down to 100 lb for superalloys and carbide. See our load minimums.
Do you buy loads below your minimums?
Yes. We do buy smaller loads, but increasing the weight per load will offer you a better return. Call 248.717.0005 to ask.
What forms do you buy?
All forms, as solids and turnings. See the forms for ferrous and for nonferrous metals and stainless. We don't buy metal in dust form (carbide sludge and powder excepted).
What do prepared and unprepared mean?
It depends on the category, so each page explains it: ferrous and nonferrous metals and stainless. Tell us which applies when you ask for a quote.
Do you buy metal with non-metal parts attached?
Often, yes. Some non-metallics attached to metal are fine. Material with no metal at all — like wood, dirt, or plastic — we don't buy. Email photos to sales@arrmetals.com and we'll tell you.
What don't you buy?
- Dust (carbide sludge and powder excepted)
- Non-metallics with no metal attached (wood, dirt, plastic)
- Radioactive materials
- Contaminated material
- Compressed cylinders
- Antifreeze, oil, liquid paint, and flammable liquids
- Items containing CFCs/Freon, PCBs (50 ppm or more), or mercury
- Explosives, weapons, and unspent ammunition
- Waste and garbage
- Fiberglass, including insulation
- Air bags
- Fluorescent lights
- TVs, monitors, and CRTs
- Magnesium turnings
- Zinc dross
Some non-metallics attached to metal are fine. Not sure about a material? Call 248.717.0005 or send us a question before you load it.
My grade isn't listed. Will you still buy it?
Ask us. Our ferrous and nonferrous pages list the grades we see most often, and we buy a wide range beyond those lists.
What areas do you serve?
Michigan, the Midwest, national, and international.
