Nickel, Superalloy & Cobalt Scrap We Buy

Machine shops, manufacturers, and fabricators that work with nickel and cobalt alloys generate valuable solids and turnings. We buy all alloys of nickel and cobalt, from pure nickel to high-temperature superalloys and cobalt-chromium alloys. Tell us the alloy if you know it, or tell us it's mixed.

We buy these metals and their alloys. Open a section for the full list of alloys we buy. Brand names refer only to material made by or for the brand owner. If you have the same grade from another producer, tell us the alloy number or UNS designation.

Nickel alloys

Pure nickel, nickel alloys, and nickel-base superalloys, as solids and turnings.

Forms we buy

  • Solids: sheet, plate, clip, bar, rod, tube, wire, punchings, and assemblies
  • Turnings: turnings, borings, and chips

Tell us whether your solids are prepared or unprepared. We don't buy metal in dust form.

Some materials we never buy, in any form. See what we don't buy.

How to describe your material

The more you tell us, the faster we can quote:

  • Alloy or grade, if you know it. "Unknown" or "mixed" is a fine answer.
  • Form: solids or turnings.
  • Prepared or unprepared (solids), using our standard.
  • Mixed or kept separate by alloy.
  • Oil or coolant on turnings.
  • Coatings or attachments on parts.
  • Mill certs or heat numbers, if you have them.

What to send for a quote

  • Material and alloy (or "mixed")
  • Approximate weight
  • Location (city, state)
  • One-time or ongoing
  • Photos

Keep it separate to protect its value

  • Keep superalloys apart by alloy.
  • Keep known alloys apart from mixed or unknown material where you can.

Load size

Our minimum for superalloys, such as Inconel, Hastelloy, and Waspaloy, is generally 100 lb and up per load. For pure nickel and other nickel and cobalt alloys, it's generally 500 lb and up per load. Not sure which applies? Tell us the alloy and we'll tell you.

Frequently asked questions

Do you buy nickel and cobalt alloy scrap if I don't know the exact grade?

Yes. We buy all alloys of nickel and cobalt. Tell us what you know, say if it's mixed, and email photos to sales@arrmetals.com.

Do you buy pure nickel and pure cobalt?

Yes. Pure cobalt is rare; most cobalt scrap is an alloy.

What forms do you buy?

All forms. Solids: sheet, plate, clip, bar, rod, tube, wire, punchings, and assemblies. Turnings: turnings, borings, and chips. We don't buy metal in dust form.

Do you take smaller loads?

Yes. We do buy loads below our minimums, but increasing the weight per load will offer you a better return. Call 248.717.0005 to ask.

Have nickel or cobalt alloy scrap to sell? Get a quote.

Tell us the alloy, the approximate weight, and where it is. Photos help us quote faster.

Have photos? Email them to sales@arrmetals.com.
