Nonferrous Metals & Stainless We Buy
We buy aluminum, copper, brass, bronze, stainless steel, and a wide range of specialty and industrial alloys, as solids or turnings. We're the nonferrous scrap metal recycling partner for manufacturers, fabricators, machine shops, and demolition and construction contractors. Minimums depend on the metal and grade. See our load minimums.

- Other specialty metalstantalum, niobium, and zirconium.
- Batteries & electronic scrapbatteries and electronic scrap from businesses and industrial sites.
Specialty and crossover metals
- Tool steel and high-speed steel (HSS): some sellers file these with specialty metals. We list them in full with our ferrous metals. Tool steel and HSS →
- Steel, cast iron, and alloy steel: on our ferrous page →.
If it's an industrial metal alloy, ask us. We buy a wide range beyond these lists.

Other specialty metals
Tantalum, niobium, and zirconium (non-nuclear sources only) from industrial equipment and manufacturing. Our minimum for these metals is generally 100 lb and up per load.
- Tantalum
- Niobium (columbium)
- Zirconium (non-nuclear sources only)
Batteries & electronic scrap
Batteries and electronic scrap from industrial sites and equipment.
- Batteries:
- Lead-acid batteries
- Industrial forklift batteries
- Nickel-cadmium (Ni-Cd) batteries
- Lithium-ion batteries
Battery loads must be packaged and labeled by the seller to meet current U.S. DOT shipping regulations.
- Electronic scrap from businesses, data centers, and industrial facilities:
- Circuit boards
- Computer and server equipment
- Telecom equipment
- Industrial controls and PLCs
- Power supplies
Please remove or destroy hard drives and other data storage devices before sale.
TVs, monitors, and CRTs are on our don't-buy list.
Forms we buy
We buy nonferrous metals, stainless, and alloys in all forms, including:
- Solids: sheet, plate, clip, bar, rod, tube, wire, punchings, and assemblies
- Turnings: turnings, borings, and chips (except magnesium turnings)
We don't buy metal in dust form (carbide sludge and powder excepted).
Some materials we never buy, in any form. See what we don't buy.
Prepared or unprepared nonferrous scrap?
When you ask for a quote, tell us whether your solids are prepared or unprepared. These are our normal standards for nonferrous metals, stainless, and alloys; there are some exceptions.
- Prepared: under 4 ft in length, width, and height, under 2,000 lb per piece, and clean, with no other metals or non-metallics mixed in or attached.
- Unprepared: oversize, overweight, or mixed with other metals or non-metallics.
Turnings, borings, and chips: tell us the metal, whether grades are mixed, and about any oil or coolant. Not sure which applies? Email photos to sales@arrmetals.com and describe it as best you can.
Frequently asked questions
Why is stainless on the nonferrous page?
Stainless, chrome stainless, and specialty steels share the same forms and the same 4 ft prepared standard as our nonferrous metals and alloys, so we list them together.
Do you buy magnesium turnings?
No. Magnesium turnings and zinc dross are on our don't-buy list. We do buy magnesium castings, extrusions, sheet, clips, and magnesium anodes.
What electronic scrap do you buy?
Circuit boards, computer and server equipment, telecom equipment, industrial controls and PLCs, and power supplies from businesses, data centers, and industrial facilities. Please remove or destroy hard drives and other data storage devices first. TVs, monitors, and CRTs are on our don't-buy list.
Do you buy tantalum, niobium, or zirconium?
Yes. Zirconium from non-nuclear sources only.
